Tracy Hart, President -- As I reflect back on our company meeting, I can't help but feel a bit recession weary. We all had hoped the economy would have improved by 2012, but that is hardly the case in our industry. We are surrounded by periodic business failures, compromised practices and staggering unemployment. I liken it to training for a race and finding out that as I was nearing the finish line, the racing distance instantly doubled. I sound like Eeyore.
We are so fortunate at Tarlton. Our mix of work in diverse markets with strong customers has given us the opportunity to stay strong. Yes, it is more difficult to attain work, but we are surrounded by many talented individuals who have been training for the big race and haven't given up. It gives me energy just to witness their enthusiasm and drive. For some of them, this is the only environment they have known.
We started a new year October 1st and did so with a few more new projects and optimism in the pipeline. We are continuing to execute the work we have very well -- our clients are telling us this, and we appreciate the feedback. We have great plans and ideas to make us a stronger and leaner company. Our endurance training is kicking in. I'm looking forward to the journey.
