In October, Tarlton mobilized to begin demolition and sitework for a 12-story building to house expansion of BJC HealthCare’s outpatient services. The 300,000 square foot building will be constructed at the northwest corner of Forest Park Ave and Euclid Ave. The project will also contain a connector bridge from the building to BJC’s existing Laclede Garage next door.
The first floor will provide street-level retail space and a lobby. Floors 2-4 will contain clinics for dermatology, general surgery, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and urology. Remaining floors will include office areas.
Design elements consist of pre-cast concrete, high-efficiency glazing, metal panels, and a roof-top balcony. Site improvements include the continuation of the Central West End Streetscape Improvement Plan from Laclede Avenue to Forest Park Parkway. The building meets sustainable criteria for certification through the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system. Tarlton, a Women-owned Business Enterprise, is in a joint venture with Interface Construction, a St. Louis-based Minority-owned Business Enterprise.
