Tim McCoy Joins Tarlton Business Development Team

Native St. Louisan brings strong ties to forge connections in the region

ST. LOUIS (January 20, 2022) – Tarlton Corp. is pleased to announce that Tim McCoy has joined the work acquisition team as Director of Business Development for the St. Louis-based general contracting and construction management firm.

McCoy brings several years of experience in relationship development, business consulting, merger and acquisition advisory, and accounting to his role at Tarlton. Born and raised in the St. Louis region, McCoy attended St. Louis University High School and Saint Louis University and served as a Tarlton accounting intern during summers 2012 and 2013. He is known for his passion for building in the St. Louis region – both the built environment and the communities living within it – and has continued to create strong connections.

From 2016 to 2019, McCoy worked as a senior analyst within the Business Advisory Services group at RubinBrown in Clayton, Missouri, primarily advising on middle-market mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs. He collaborated with teams from private equity firms, investment banks, and strategic buyers, developing relationships and performing buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for clients across a variety of sectors. Apart from his consulting work, he was involved in the group’s business development, recruitment, and training functions before relocating to his wife’s hometown of Dallas, Texas, and joining Riveron Consulting, LLC.

As a manager with Riveron’s Transaction Advisory Services group from 2019 to 2021, McCoy spearheaded project strategies and client relationship efforts, managed project budgets and timelines, and led teams of associates while advising on mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs for a diverse collection of client sizes and sectors – including construction, technology, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare systems, and oil and gas. In addition, he provided deal-structure consulting and post-transaction strategic planning.

“We are excited about the energy and experience Tim brings to Tarlton,” said Tracy Hart, president, Tarlton Corp. “Throughout his adult life, he has remained committed to our community’s growth and development. Business development encompasses much more than attracting and pursuing work opportunities, and we are excited that Tim is working with us in support of our corporate values.”

McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in finance and accounting, from John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University and holds an inactive license as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Missouri. In 2015 through 2016, he volunteered a year of service and teaching through the Alum Service Corps at DeSmet Jesuit High School in Creve Coeur, Missouri, where he taught algebra and computer fundamentals and served as freshman basketball coach, assistant freshman baseball coach and assistant junior varsity soccer coach.

In recent years, McCoy volunteered as a basketball coach for Loyola Academy of St. Louis. He is an alumni mentor of Decadence A Capella at Saint Louis University, with tenure as president while a member of the musical performing group; a member of the St. Louis University High Alumni Club; and since 2013, a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society. McCoy and his family live in Kirkwood, Missouri. Outside of work, you’ll find them walking and biking in their neighborhood, exploring Saint Louis’ park system, cheering on the Billikens basketball team at Chaifetz Arena or visiting local restaurants and breweries.
