Tarlton renovated the two floors of this 26,000 sf building at the General Services Administration's Goodfellow campus in St. Louis.
On the first floor, work involved removal and installation of perimeter drywall and insulation, as well as a new security door, and construction of an ADA-compliant restroom outside the secure area. Since the floor was partially occupied during construction, the team phased the work to maintain tempered air to the facility. On the second floor, a gut rehab resulted in new spaces including offices and a gun room.
Tarlton self-performed cleanup, carpentry and casework, in addition to removing the ceiling on the first floor. The team still met the tenant schedule despite the unexpected discovery of a deteriorated sanitary line that had to be replaced. Tarlton investigated and assisted with the design, providing several cost scenarios to help the owner determine the best solution.
