Outreach & Engagement is a part of everything we do at Tarlton. We believe that a welcoming workplace makes us stronger. We have been a St. Louis leader in this area for more than a decade through practices such as recruiting expansive talent and mentoring small and emerging businesses. It is no accident that we work with many clients who also recognize the benefits of building an environment where opportunities are open to all.
Each of us must be healthy mentally and physically to be happy, work productively, serve others, and lift each other up. As builders, we have an opportunity to create lasting change in ways big and small. We continue to educate ourselves, talk about what matters most and get involved. Our ears and our hearts are open, acting with kindness. Together we will forge new ways to build stronger bonds in our industry and our communities.
Our Commitment
Tarlton Corporation is an equal opportunity builder, employer and purchaser of goods and services. We believe providing meaningful opportunities in the workplace and marketplace are key components to the success of our community. It is our desire to engage small and emerging businesses to participate in the construction projects we complete for our clients.
We encourage business proposals from small and emerging suppliers offering products and services in support of our administrative, maintenance, information technology, marketing and other corporate functions. Firms are strongly encouraged to include small and emerging businesses to participate in their contracting and purchasing plans.
We aim to increase representation of apprentices in the workforce and to reflect the voices of the communities in which we work. In addition, all firms with which we work are encouraged to demonstrate their commitment to engagement by involving employees and apprentices from all backgrounds and perspectives in their workforce.
Our Commitment to Small Business
At Tarlton, we understand the important role played by small business in the construction industry. It is our policy to act as a catalyst for small businesses and to encourage utilization of small businesses through subcontracting and supplier opportunities.
We promote the utilization of Small Businesses (SB), Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), Hubzone Small Businesses (HUBZone), Service Disabled Veteran-owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) through a concerted effort that identifies Small Business firms, notifies them of potential projects through a variety of methods, and mentors firms to help them expand their capabilities.
