Tarlton completed this 11-month expansive project to enable the distribution of coal at AmerenUE’s Meramec Plant. The facility includes a conveying system that receives coal from railcars and distributes it to the plant for internal consumption or to be loaded on barges and transported for resale.
The project consisted of installing a series of aerial conveyors that run between the terminal unloading facility and the Mississippi River, 10 control houses, five transfer houses, and all the associated concrete. Tarlton also was responsible for the railcar receiving system, including providing the equipment installation and a conveyor system that runs 150 ft underground.
