Tarlton renovated an existing potent compound research lab on the third floor of a confidential client’s building. The project was constructed in two phases to maintain operations in half the space while the other half was under construction.
The company required all team members to receive Qualified Person training. The project included selective demolition, asbestos abatement, new interior finishes and upgrades to the HVAC system to accommodate new fume hoods. All tie-in activities required detailed coordination between the design-build team, company personnel and scientists, including users in other labs potentially affected by planned shut-downs and outages.
To minimize disruption, some activities (especially abatement) took place on evenings and weekends.
